FOKE strongly supports Ku-ring-gai Council’s legal action against the TODs. It is important that residents voting at the Ku-ring-gai Council elections on Saturday 14 September 2024 know who the candidates are who support Ku-ring-gai Council’s legal action.
The NSW Productivity & Equality Commission’s ‘Review of Housing Supply Challenges and Policy Options for NSW’, released on the 11 September 2024, recommend that the Transport Orientated Development programs (TODs) be extended across the northern suburbs. This means that Pymble, Turramurra, Warrawee and Wahroonga will be targetted with TODs.
FOKE believes that Ku-ring-gai Council’s legal action against the NSW Government’s Transport Orientated Development (TOD) is the single most important issue facing Ku-ring-gai at the upcoming Ku-ring-gai Council elections on Saturday 14 September 2024.

FOKE strongly supports Ku-ring-gai Council’s legal action against the NSW Government’s undemocratic Transport Orientated Development (TOD) rezonings which affects Roseville, Lindfield, Killara and Gordon. Why?
Ku-ring-gai’s tree and garden identity, heritage and environment is under threat.
Ku-ring-gai Council’s legal action is challenging the proposed 400 metre radius of 6-8 storey developments in the four suburbs which could yield approximately 22,500 new dwellings over the next 15 years without any funding in place for new schools, parks, sports fields, water and sewerage infrastructure and community services.
We know that approximately 90% of Ku-ring-gai is proposed to be upzoned within 800 metres of each railway station – Roseville, Lindfield, Killara, Gordon, Pymble, Turramura, Warawee and Wahroonga – as well as St Ives and beyond that dual occupancies on 400sqm lot sizes.
